Senior Pastor, Robert Stephenson


Pastor Robert Stephenson joined the pastoral staff of Graceway Baptist Church in 1996 as associate pastor. He was called as senior pastor in May of 2000.

Pastor Bob began his ministry on the staff of Jack Van Impe Ministries International where he served as Assistant Media Director and Assistant Producer for the “Jack Van Impe Presents” radio and television programs. Following this, he served on the faculty of Macomb Christian School as high school Bible teacher and on the pastoral staff of Ryan Road Baptist Church in Warren, Michigan as youth pastor and later associate pastor.

Pastor Bob holds undergraduate degrees from Macomb College, Liberty University and Baptist Bible College; and received both his Master of Theological Studies and his Master of Divinity degrees from Louisiana Baptist Theological Seminary. He is certified in dispute resolution through The National Center for Dispute Settlement.

Pastor Bob currently serves as treasurer of the Missouri Baptist Bible Fellowship; as a Missions Committeeman and Field Representative for the Baptist Bible Fellowship International; as chaplain for the Springfield Police Department; and as president of the Police Chaplains Association of Springfield, Missouri.

Pastor Bob was born in Detroit, Michigan. He has been married to his high school sweetheart, Kim, for thirty three years. They have one daughter, Cassie.  Bob and Kim enjoy exploring the United States on their Harley-Davidson motorcycles.

Student Pastor, Kyle Gangel 




Pastor Kyle joined the pastoral staff of Graceway in 2010. Kyle trusted Christ as Savior as a teenager growing up in Canon City, Colorado. As God worked in his life, Kyle became convinced that vocational ministry was something he should pursue.

He enrolled in Baptist Bible College and graduated with his bachelors degree in pastoral studies/Bible in 2008. He also earned an M.A. in Biblical Counseling and M. Div. from Baptist Bible Graduate School in 2012.

During his undergraduate years, Kyle spent his summers working as the youth pastor at Canon Community Baptist Church in Canon City, Colorado.

Kyle married his wife Elisabeth, who grew up on the mission field, in May of 2008.  Their first son Brennan was born June 15, 2011 and their second son Harrison was born on June 14, 2014.

Visitation/Seniors Pastor, James Sewell


Dr. James Sewell (Ph. D., Bob Jones University) is a third generation Texan who received Christ as his Savior in 1961.  Dr. Sewell has been on staff at Graceway since 2006.

He and his wife Linda married in 1963. They have three children and ten grandchildren (including twin boys and twin girls).

During his fifty plus years of ministry Dr. Sewell has served as a youth pastor, associate pastor, pastor and Bible college professor. They have been on the staff of Graceway Baptist Church for the past five years.

Worship Pastor, Jon Williams



Pastor Jon joined the staff of Graceway Baptist Church in August 2013 as the Worship Pastor.

Jon received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Missions and Bible from Baptist Bible College, Springfield, MO in May 2003. Jon and his family have served as missionaries in Mexico City, Mexico for the past 10 years. The Williams’ were short-term missionaries from 2003 to 2008 and they were career missionaries from 2009 to 2012.

Jon has enjoyed being involved in several ministries such as: shepherding a church, regularly preaching the Word of God, leading music, holding discipleship meetings, supervising a feeding center as an outreach of the church, and organizing camps for unsaved teenagers.

Jon and his wife, Kim, have been married since 1999 and have four children as follows: Isabelle, Brendan, Olivia, and Jackson.

Family Life Pastor, Tyler Shores


Pastor Tyler joined the pastoral team in August 2013 as Family Life Pastor after serving for several years in the college ministry of Graceway.

Tyler trusted in Christ as a child but it wasn’t until late in his teen years that he began to sense that it was God’s plan for him to serve through pastoral ministry. After earning his Bachelor of Science in Pastoral Studies from Baptist Bible College, Tyler went on to earn his Master of Arts in Biblical Counseling and Master of Divinity from Baptist Bible Graduate School.

Tyler’s passion is to help people come to know God’s grace and love available through Jesus Christ for the first time and equip believers to love like Christ loves.

Tyler is married to his college sweetheart, Kendall. In July 2013 they welcomed their first daughter, Rory Charlotte.
